Description
Clemson University is establishing a fixed-price bid with multiple sources to build outside plant fiber-optic networks at multiple campus sites throughout South Carolina. The work includes furnishing labor, supervision, tooling, equipment, mounting hardware, consumables, and other materials needed to install complete telecommunications systems supporting voice and data. Installation may involve direct burial, aerial placement, duct systems, utility tunnels, conduit, termination enclosures, splicing, fiber termination, testing, labeling, and restoration of disturbed areas. Contractors must use Corning Cable Systems components and be members of the Corning LANscape Network of Preferred Installers. The scope also requires project plans and bills of materials, qualified personnel including an RCDD and project manager, experience and certifications documentation, at least three similar references completed within the last two years, as-built drawings, electronic test documentation, and a 25-year system warranty. The completed bidding schedule must provide hourly labor and overtime rates that do not exceed Clemson's stated maximums; materials may be billed at cost with a maximum 10% shipping and handling adder.
