Central Carolina Technical College is soliciting a design-bid-build contractor to demolish and replace existing rooftop air-handling units, boilers, rooftop heat-pump equipment, associated ductwork and hydronic piping, and related electrical infrastructure at the Health Science Building. The work includes new equipment, curbs or curb adapters as required, boiler flues and combustion-air systems, vibration and seismic restraints, equipment startup by a factory startup agent, testing and balancing, and coordination with the owner's separately hired controls contractor for building-automation integration. The contractor must coordinate shutdowns, provide a coordinated construction schedule, obtain required hot-work permits, manage crane safety, and properly remove and dispose of demolished materials. The estimated construction cost is $1,250,000 to $1,500,000. The successful contractor must provide a 5 percent bid security and performance and labor-and-material payment bonds, each for 100 percent of the contract price. The bid form states a 240-calendar-day substantial-completion period from the date of commencement.
