Description
The South Dakota Department of Transportation is soliciting proposals for comprehensive maintenance and care of the Valley Springs single-site interstate rest area and information center along Interstate 90. Required services include daily cleaning and disinfection of restrooms and facilities; litter, trash, recycling, picnic-area, lawn, sidewalk, native-area, and pet-exercise-area maintenance; monitoring of water, sewage, lighting, heating, and related systems; minor plumbing and electrical repairs; kiosk and video-surveillance-system maintenance; annual deep cleaning; and snow and ice removal from designated walks and other areas. The contractor must provide personnel on duty daily for the contract duration, with specified twelve-hour coverage during peak periods, and furnish necessary vehicles, mowing and snow-removal equipment, fuel, parts, and other equipment. Proposals must address the required scope, company qualifications, prior similar contracts, technical approach, point-by-point compliance, options or alternatives, and cost. The contract term is two years, beginning November 1, 2026, with insurance coverage and certificates required before work begins.
