Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to provide Statement of Conditions and life safety assessment services for the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System. The work includes onsite and remote investigations, evaluation of healthcare and other occupancies for compliance with NFPA 101, NFPA 99, Joint Commission standards, and current VHA clarifications, identification and reporting of deficiencies, and interpretation of life safety and code-related issues. The contractor must update or create life safety drawings in PDF and AutoCAD DWG formats, including fire and smoke barriers, hazardous areas, exits, suites, sprinkler protection, construction types, chases, shafts, chutes, equivalencies, square footage, and exit-to-grade information. Deliverables include draft and final survey reports, updated Basic Building Information and Statement of Conditions, electronic files in editable formats, applicable CAD layers and plot styles, and four 11-by-17-inch and three 22-by-34-inch paper drawing sets. A fire protection engineer must perform the onsite assessments, and assigned surveyors must have at least five years of fire life safety assessment experience and at least three hospital assessments. The contract is firm-fixed-price with one base year and four option years, and includes onsite and remote professional support.
