Description
The City of Sioux Falls is soliciting a contractor to demolish existing 4-inch ductile iron lime sludge lines beneath the concrete floors of Basins 2 and 3 and replace them with concrete-encased 8-inch mechanical-joint ductile iron pipe. The work also includes replacing vertical piping, valves, fittings, and wall penetrations serving the basin sludge hoppers; installing manual and pneumatically actuated plug valves; reconnecting existing water and compressed-air lines; and painting and labeling exposed process piping. The contractor must provide associated electrical work, including new electrically actuated valves, junction boxes, conduit, control conductors, and connections to the existing control panels. The project requires demolition, concrete cutting and coring, pipe installation, pressure testing, coordination with an operating water purification plant, site safety and training, construction scheduling, and final testing and commissioning. The estimated project value is $328,000, and final completion is required by May 1, 2027.
