Description
Community Transit is conducting market research on buses and cutaway vehicles shorter than 30 feet for low-ridership fixed-route service in suburban and rural environments. Desired characteristics include 14–18 passenger capacity, ADA accessibility, Buy America compliance, and hybrid or unleaded gasoline propulsion, with low-floor vehicles strongly preferred. Respondents are asked to provide detailed information about candidate vehicles, including specifications, range, pricing and total cost of ownership, accessibility, transit technology compatibility, useful life, maintenance, warranty and parts support, leasing options, comparable agency use, duty cycle, and potential zero-emission versions. The agency may also pursue no-cost vehicle demonstrations or a pilot lease; this is an RFI only and will support development of a future RFP.
