Description
The project requires furnishing all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals to install approximately 2,100 linear feet of eight-inch Class 52 ductile iron water main and associated fittings, three new fire hydrant assemblies, and approximately 40 water services while maintaining service to the existing water system. Work includes tie-ins, valves, air/vacuum assemblies, temporary blow-offs, testing, flushing, disinfection, pressure and leakage testing, and abandonment or removal of existing water-main appurtenances, including asbestos-cement materials where applicable. The contractor must also perform trench excavation and safety systems, traffic control, erosion and sediment control, dewatering, utility conflict resolution, asphalt trench patching and two-inch roadway overlay, driveway and culvert restoration, roadway striping, landscaping or sod restoration, and disposal of waste or contaminated materials if encountered. The engineer's estimate is $815,000. The contract requires completion within 60 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with substantial completion due within 50 calendar days and final completion within 10 additional days. A five-percent bid security is required, and performance and payment bonds are required after award.
