Description
The Town of Grantsville is soliciting construction bids for a new indoor community recreation center under Project T60-11523. The work includes demolition of the existing building; site preparation; construction of a wide-span pre-engineered metal building and traditional stick-built assemblies; concrete foundations; a gymnasium; community, fitness, and administrative spaces; exterior finishes; roofing; interior partitions and finishes; electrical, communications, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems; and excavation, paving, and landscaping. Substantial completion is required within 365 calendar days after contract times commence, with final completion within 395 days. Liquidated damages are $500 per day. Bids must include a certified check or bid bond equal to 5% of the base bid. Contractors must be registered with the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation, and applicable electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and self-performed trade work requires current Maryland trade contractor licensing. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for October 27, 2026.
