Description
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is soliciting a general contractor to construct a 1.02-mile-long, 12-foot-wide shared-use path. Work includes clearing and stump removal, excavation, embankment and trail-base construction, asphalt surfacing, striping, signage, and construction of six precast concrete boardwalks over wetland areas. The boardwalk work includes contractor-designed and installed helical pile foundations and must use top-down construction in designated Category 3 wetlands; clearing and stump removal are prohibited in those wetlands. The project also includes erosion and sediment controls, seeding and mulching, vinyl fencing, bicycle racks, and a bicycle repair station. The project has a 5% EDGE participation goal, prevailing-wage requirements, and domestic-steel requirements. The advertised general contract estimate is $4,337,702.59. Tree clearing must be completed by March 31, 2027, and substantial completion is due October 15, 2027.
