Description
The work is to coordinate the Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BBOW) program, an auxiliary effort of the New York State Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program. BBOW offers smaller, generally single-day follow-on classes and events for women who have completed beginner workshops. Activities include outdoor skills such as fishing, shooting, archery, hunting, trapping, photography, navigation, survival, camping, canoeing, and field dressing game, taught with volunteer instructors. The coordinator will work alongside the Department of Environmental Conservation's Hunter Education Program and build relationships with partner groups to strengthen the program's connections with underserved communities, non-traditional outdoor user groups, and women. The notice states that the Department intends to make a single-source award to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County and is not conducting an open solicitation for quotes; interested firms may submit supporting information for consideration for this or potential future awards.
