Description
Surry County seeks one qualified provider to staff its emergency medical services agency. The required coverage is one two-person crew 24 hours a day, seven days a week, plus a second two-person crew from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each crew must include an Advanced Life Support provider and a Basic Life Support provider. The provider will respond to emergency, non-emergency, and mutual-aid calls; collect billing information; supply supervisory oversight; and provide uniforms. County equipment and supplies will be used. The provider must maintain vehicle readiness, complete vehicle inspections, document calls electronically, and support the agency’s drug-box management program, including inventory control, reconciliation, records, and replenishment recommendations. The proposal must describe the firm’s qualifications and experience, proposed service approach and personnel, cost, three current references from 911-based services, and privacy policy. The contract has a two-year initial term beginning November 1, 2026, with up to four additional one-year renewals by mutual agreement. Medication, supply, pharmacy, and third-party charges for the drug-box program are excluded from the provider’s scope.
