Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Healthcare Administration, Regional Procurement Office West, Network Contracting Office 20, on behalf of the Puget Sound VA Health Care System, requires an automation on-site administrator for all Omnicell pharmacy automation equipment. This role is crucial for the successful transition to a new medication distribution model that relies on secure, real-time medication availability in patient care areas. The administrator will be responsible for daily adjustments to cabinet configurations and inventory, ensuring alignment with VHA directives and standards for medication safety and management. The scope of responsibilities includes managing Omnicell hardware, operating systems, and software applications across all PSHCS locations. Key tasks involve supporting optimization efforts, managing issues, performing initial troubleshooting and break-fix, providing training, and managing users and systems. The administrator will collaborate with Omnicell resources to implement efficiency opportunities, monitor performance metrics, maintain subject matter expertise, and suggest training on new features. They will also be responsible for establishing new user access, troubleshooting minor hardware issues, coordinating service resources, and assisting in the development of internal dashboards for inventory management and diversion risk identification. The contract is for a base year plus four option years, with services performed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding federal holidays.
