Description
This Sources Sought notice is for market research only and is not a request for proposals; no contract will be awarded from this notice. The contemplated firm-fixed-price design-build construction project will prepare room A-400M in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's Washington, DC Facility for installation of a new non-sequential LEPE printing press. The anticipated scope includes site surveying and engineering; demolition and disposal of an elevated office; construction of a replacement floor-level office; evaluation and reinforcement of the intermediate floor slab and other structural elements; architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-protection, and other trade design and construction; and utility modifications. The project also includes converting two air-handling units and existing steam-to-hot-water heat exchangers from constant-air-volume to variable-air-volume operation, installing and integrating new PLC, HMI, controls, sensors, network drops, and related software with the existing AVEVA Plant SCADA system, testing and balancing, commissioning, hazardous-material controls, training, and closeout documentation. The estimated construction magnitude is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000, with an estimated eight-month completion period after issuance of the notice to proceed.
