Description
The City of Davenport seeks a contractor to perform structural, architectural, and historic preservation repairs to the exterior canopy at Union Station. The base bid includes removing deteriorated elements, repairing or replacing canopy elements, cleaning and refinishing, installing new Type G1 canopy glass, and replacing globe bulbs with frosted, exterior-rated bulbs. Two required alternates cover Type G2 canopy glass in place of Type G1 and replacement of existing light sockets and canopy globe bulbs. Bidders must provide pricing for the base bid and both alternates and respond to every line item. The bid package also requires a completed Bidder Status Form and, for construction bids of $25,000 or more, DBE subcontractor contact forms and supporting good-faith-effort documentation. A current Certificate of Insurance is requested with the bid. A 5% bid bond is required only for bids over $100,000; performance and payment bonds at 100% and a four-year maintenance bond apply to the awarded contractor for bids over $100,000.
