Description
The City of Delray Beach is soliciting bids for automotive batteries, battery stocking, delivery, and removal of core batteries from the City's site for recycling or disposal. The solicitation requires onsite delivery and core removal; battery-supply-only offers are not acceptable. Required products include new wet-charged, dry-charged, and AGM batteries in specified Battery Council International group sizes, voltages, cold-cranking amps, and reserve capacities. Reconditioned or remanufactured batteries will not be accepted. The awarded contractor must maintain inventory, provide weekly restocking visits, supply emergency batteries and services, deliver and place batteries in the battery rack, and support warranty service through an authorized Florida service station or servicing dealer. The contract has a three-year initial term with two one-year renewal options. The City estimates approximately 280 battery purchases per year and approximately 14,000 pounds of used batteries annually for recycling or disposal. Q&A clarification states that either manufacturer list pricing or the vendor's own list pricing may be used.
