Description
The City of Worcester is soliciting sealed bids for the furnishing and delivery of an estimated 4,608 50-pound bags of endothermic ice melt for Worcester Public Schools, public facilities, parks, and other city locations. The product must contain at least 0.5% Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) and meet specified requirements, including medium-sized granules suitable for spreaders, color coating, anti-caking and time-release properties, reduced corrosiveness, traction enhancement, biodegradability, non-toxicity, effectiveness to at least -22 degrees Celsius, non-flammability, a pH of 10 or less, and 50-pound packaging. Bidders must identify the offered product and provide an analysis, including the CMA percentage; proprietary blends without a stated CMA percentage will not be considered. An MSDS is required with the bid submission. Deliveries must begin within 48 hours of purchase-order receipt and be completed within ten business days, with pallets unloaded inside buildings or storage containers. The contract term is one year, with the City retaining options for a second and third year, and may include up to 25% additional quantity at the same unit price.
