Description
Community Transit is seeking a consultant to develop an operational concept for a battery electric bus operating facility over a continuous three-day rolling period. The study covers 34 battery electric buses and 21 charging positions at Kasch Park Operating Base and must evaluate fleet dispatching, coach staging, yard circulation, charging schedules, charger utilization, fleet readiness, vehicle availability, state of charge, mileage, operational constraints, risks, and alternative operating strategies. The work includes project initiation and data review; existing-operations and facility-assumption analysis; predictive simulation and scenario modeling for depot-only, mixed-fleet, and opportunity-charging conditions; recommendations for fleet deployment and charging operations; two formal presentations; project management; and an actionable final report. The consultant is expected to provide a three-day rolling operational simulation, scenario results, and a planning tool or digital tabletop that enables agency staff to evaluate operational strategies. Most work may be performed remotely, although the project principal is preferred to attend formal presentations in person.
