Description
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Laboratories seeks potential alternatives to Mayo Medical Laboratories for second-tier testing of dried blood spots and interpretation of results for newborn screening. Testing includes analytes associated with congenital adrenal hyperplasia, propionic acidemia, methylmalonic acidemia, homocystinuria, mucopolysaccharidoses, Pompe disease, maple syrup urine disease, glutaric acidemia, and X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy. The notice states that the intended provider is believed to be the only service provider offering the required tests, methodology, and interpretation. Any response must describe an equivalent product or service. The proposed new contract has a minimum three-year term with five one-year options.
