Description
The City of Arlington is soliciting bids for the Colonial Estates Phase 1 project, consisting primarily of full-depth asphalt reclamation on Colony Drive, Freedom Court, Freedom Lane, Gettysburg Drive, Liberty Trail, Minuteman Lane, Patriotic Court, Valley Forge Court, and Valley Forge Lane. Related work includes subgrade treatment, asphalt base and surface courses, paving fabric, concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, valley gutter, driveway, mailbox, drainage, sod, traffic control, stormwater pollution prevention, and associated roadway improvements. Bidders and applicable subcontractors must be prequalified in the required work categories, including asphalt paving; the prime contractor must self-perform the primary asphalt paving work. The engineer's estimate is $5,000,000.00. The project requires prevailing wages, a bid security of at least 5% of the largest possible bid, and performance, payment, and maintenance bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. The successful contractor must begin work within 10 days after the written Notice to Proceed and complete the work within 180 calendar days. Work must be performed in person at the project streets, generally Monday through Friday during the specified working hours.
