The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service is seeking one small, plot-sized electric cultivating tractor on a brand-name-or-equal basis for alfalfa research. The equipment must support all stages of alfalfa growth up to 20 inches, provide at least 20 inches of ground clearance and 45 inches of clearance between the inner tire portions, operate for up to eight hours per day through battery and field-charging capabilities, provide clear visibility across the cultivation area, and accommodate interchangeable seeding and cultivation implements. The requested package includes the electric tractor, lithium batteries and chargers, canopy, toolbar, parallel cultivator kits, finger weeder kit, blades, shanks, mounts, clamps, and hardware. Equal products must be clearly identified by brand, make, and model and supported by descriptive literature demonstrating compliance with all salient characteristics. The anticipated award is a firm-fixed-price purchase order, with one award planned; delivery is required by November 30, 2026, and the quotation must include pricing for all items.
