The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting two 15-foot tractor-towed rotary cutters for the Bonnet Carre Spillway. Each mower must have a 15-foot total cutting width with two flexible wings, cut material up to 5 inches in diameter, and include a mowing deck at least 1/4 inch thick, solid tires and rims, chain guards, 1/2-inch by 5-inch cutting blades, Category 6 input and cutting drivelines, and gearboxes rated at least 250 horsepower for the transfer gearbox and 225 horsepower for the cutting gearboxes. The units must support tractor PTO speeds of 540 or 1,000 RPM, with wings capable of flexing 90 degrees upward and 25 degrees downward. The contractor is responsible for purchasing and delivering the units. Delivery must occur within 90 days after contract award, with 48 hours' advance notice; the Government will offload and store the mowers. The solicitation is a total small-business set-aside and uses a firm-fixed-price arrangement.
