Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Health is soliciting applications for grants supporting innovative spinal cord injury research intended to improve treatment, rehabilitation, functional outcomes, health status, and access to care. Applicants may propose Pilot Research, Standard Research, or Clinical/Translational Research projects aligned with the stated priorities, including pharmacologic, biologic, medical-device, brain-stimulation, and rehabilitative approaches; translational research; industry collaboration; and research addressing medical comorbidities, barriers to care, and underserved populations. The anticipated grant period is July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2031, with awards not exceeding $200,000 for Tier 1, $300,000 for Tier 2, or $500,000 for Tier 3. The Department has $1,300,030.08 available and expects to make three to six awards. Applications must include a letter of intent, cover page, worker-protection certification, research proposal, letters of support when applicable, budget, human-subjects and laboratory-research certifications as applicable, ethical-standards memorandum, and other required application materials. The letter of intent is submitted by email; applicants then receive a SharePoint link for the full application.
