Description
The City of Council Bluffs is requesting bids for rehabilitation work at 220 N 8th Street. The scope includes electrical upgrades throughout the house, replacement of the basement electrical panel and exterior disconnect, a new block foundation and footing, south-wall jack bracing, and associated code-compliant repairs. Bidders must itemize pricing by specification and include required permits, licenses, materials, labor, cleanup, and disposal. The project also includes lead-safe work practices, including containment, protective equipment, lead-contaminated dust cleanup, repair and repainting of deteriorated surfaces, and clearance-related requirements. Separate bid forms are provided for the general contractor, plumber, electrician, and HVAC contractor; the HVAC form requires information about the proposed furnace and air-conditioning equipment. General contractors must be licensed and registered with the City, certified as lead-abatement contractors with the Iowa Department of Public Health, and maintain the specified insurance coverage. Work must begin within 30 calendar days after the notice to proceed and is typically required to be completed within 30–45 calendar days thereafter.
