The Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission’s Septic and Well Assistance Program is soliciting bids for an alternative onsite sewage system installation project funded through a Virginia Department of Health grant. The contractor must furnish labor, supervision, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and materials to construct the system in compliance with Virginia regulations and the Chesapeake Health Department construction permit; pump out and abandon the existing septic system; perform required tree removal, site clearing, erosion and sediment control, grading, seeding, and debris removal; and provide or subcontract licensed plumbing and electrical work. The contractor must obtain required inspections, completion and as-built documentation, the final operation permit, and other health-department documentation. The scope also includes two years of regulatory operation and maintenance for the alternative onsite sewage system, unless included with the treatment unit. Bidders must provide a line-item cost breakdown and a separate breakdown for additional services, which require written approval before performance. Bidders must provide the specified Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation licenses and proof of insurance. All work and related paperwork, permits, invoices, and receipts must be completed and received by September 15, 2026.
