Description
Kanawha County Schools is seeking herbicide spraying services at school and athletic facility fence lines, gravel areas, sidewalk cracks, playgrounds, and paved parking lots. The vendor must provide all equipment, supplies, labor, and supervision; use approved herbicides; follow West Virginia Department of Agriculture guidelines; and obtain facility maintenance director approval before applying chemicals. Playground applications require 24 hours’ notice, and the vendor must notify the Maintenance Department at least one day before spraying on weekends or holidays. Spraying is expected twice yearly, including in spring and before school starts. The vendor must clean up generated debris, obtain school sign-off for each application, and provide a signed job report identifying the building, work performed, and invoiced cost. Bidders must submit herbicide product literature and specifications and the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet with their bid. The award is based on the lowest overall total cost among bids meeting the specifications. The apparent successful vendor must provide proof of the required West Virginia business pesticide license, and technicians applying herbicides must hold valid West Virginia registered spray technician licenses. The contract is for an initial one-year term, with up to two successive one-year renewals by mutual written consent.
