Description
The New York State Office of Children & Family Services is seeking up to two contractors to provide barbering services to eligible youth at Brookwood Secure Center for Boys and Highland Residential Center for Boys. Services include standard and approved specialty haircuts, such as skin fades, skin tapers, and line-ups, with approved beard or facial hair removal potentially available for additional compensation. Approximately 115 haircuts per month are anticipated at Brookwood and 90 at Highland, although quantities are not guaranteed and payment will be based on actual services provided. The contractor must provide all tools, materials, and supplies, comply with facility security and confidentiality procedures, document each service for billing, and provide services at mutually agreed times. Applicants must possess a valid New York State barbering license, have at least three years of barbering experience, provide three professional references including one from the past 12 months, and qualify as a New York State-certified MWBE, SDVOB, or SBE. Subcontracting is prohibited. The contract is anticipated to run for three years with up to two optional one-year renewals, for a maximum term of five years.
