The Federal Aviation Administration is accepting applications for FY 2027 Airport Infrastructure Grant funds under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for its Contract Tower competitive grant program. The program provides annual grants for airport-owned airport traffic control tower projects addressing aging infrastructure. Eligible projects may sustain, construct, repair, improve, rehabilitate, modernize, replace, or relocate non-approach control towers; acquire and install air traffic control, communications, and related equipment for those towers; or construct an FAA-certified remote tower, including related equipment. Eligible applicants include approved Contract Tower or Contract Tower Cost Share Program airport sponsors that are otherwise eligible for Airport Improvement Program competitive grants, including qualifying public agencies, private entities, state agencies, Indian Tribes or Pueblos, and certain Pacific island governments. The opportunity provides awards from $25,000 to $55,000,000, with up to $100 million in total FY 2027 program funding and no cost-sharing requirement.
