Description
The Town of Cheshire is soliciting sealed bids for construction of a timber pedestrian bridge and two outlook platforms between the Upper and Lower Mixville Ponds at Mixville Park. The scope includes relocating and resetting an existing stone slab pathway; installing timber bridge structures, decking, railings, helical pile foundations, and precast concrete abutments; and completing associated construction, structural, and site work in accordance with the plans and specifications. The contractor must implement sedimentation and erosion controls, temporary water handling, construction access, restoration of disturbed areas, and permanent turf cover. The project is subject to Connecticut Department of Transportation specifications, prevailing-wage and public-works requirements, STEAP funding requirements, applicable permits, insurance, and state set-aside and contract-compliance requirements. A mandatory pre-bid conference is required, and the contract time is 120 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
