Description
The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (Authority) is seeking qualifications from interested Design-Build firms to provide professional design and construction services for the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Replacement Project at Tampa International Airport (TPA). This project will utilize the progressive Design-Build methodology. The existing ATCT, constructed in the early 1970s, requires replacement. The new ATCT will be located on an approximately 2-acre parcel within the northwest quadrant of the Main Terminal complex. The project is currently under construction, with the Authority aiming to complete the ATCT structure by March 1, 2029, ahead of the Airside D opening in May 2029. The FAA will be responsible for the design, furnishing, installation, testing, and commissioning of all FAA-required electronic and operational systems. Funding for this project is provided through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
