Description
The City of Shelton is soliciting competitive bids for labor, materials, equipment, and related work to remove and replace approximately 2,200 linear feet of existing bituminous concrete sidewalk from the entrance of Long Hill School northerly to Sharon Drive. The replacement sidewalk will be Class 2 bituminous concrete, five feet wide and 2.5 inches thick, conforming to Connecticut Department of Transportation Form 819 and applicable revisions. The scope includes clearing and grubbing, earth excavation, sedimentation control, approximately 2,200 linear feet of bituminous concrete lip curbing, three concrete handicapped ramps, approximately 1,250 square yards of sidewalk, topsoil, turf establishment, and maintenance and protection of traffic. The City will supply traffic control through certified Department of Public Works staff and/or Shelton Police Department personnel. Bidders must provide pricing, insurance documentation, a notarized non-collusion affidavit, bid confirmations, experience and client references, qualifications, applicable licenses and certificates, and acknowledgment of the sample agreement through the electronic procurement portal. No bid bond is required. The project is anticipated to take place in spring 2027, although the exact schedule is to be determined.
