Description

The City of Lebanon is soliciting unit-price bids for rehabilitation of the NH Route 120 (Hanover Street) bridge over the New Hampshire Railroad. The work includes removal and replacement of the existing superstructure with prestressed concrete deck beams, repairs and modifications to the existing tunnel-forming substructure and retaining walls, replacement of approach slabs, concrete sidewalk and curb work, bridge rail and guardrail installation, waterproofing, corrosion protection, lighting, sewer service adjustments, pavement reconstruction, pavement markings, erosion control, and maintenance of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The project also includes asbestos-containing material testing, transportation, and disposal if encountered, as well as utility coordination and temporary pedestrian accommodations. The engineer’s estimate is $2.3 million to $2.5 million. Bidders must be listed on the New Hampshire Department of Transportation Prequalified Contractor’s List under bridge and/or bridge rehabilitation classifications and provide written documentation of that status. A 5 percent bid bond is required with the bid; performance and payment bonds are required after award. The contractor must maintain the specified insurance coverage and perform at least 50 percent of the contract amount with its own organization, subject to the stated specialty-item provisions. Work at the site is limited to 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The bridge is scheduled to reopen by September 28, 2027, with final completion by October 12, 2027.
