Description
The City of Bend is soliciting a contractor to construct the Aune Safety and Connectivity Project in southeast Bend. The work includes roadway reconstruction; new sewer and water lines; shared-use paths, sidewalks, bicycle facilities, pedestrian refuge islands, curb ramps, and crossings; traffic-calming improvements; retaining walls and pedestrian railings; stormwater facilities; utility coordination and relocations; roadway paving and markings; pedestrian-scale lighting; and a new signalized intersection at 3rd Street and Miller Avenue. Work also includes coordination with BNSF Railway and Pacific Power, traffic control, erosion and sediment control, construction surveying, prevailing-wage compliance, and related restoration and testing. The engineer's estimate is $7,447,202. Segment 1 must be completed by May 28, 2027, and the remaining work by October 29, 2027. The anticipated notice to proceed is December 23, 2026, and on-site work may not begin before January 11, 2027. Bidders must be prequalified by the City of Bend, hold the required Oregon contractor licensing and public-works bond, submit the required bid forms and bid security, and provide payment and performance bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract amount if awarded.
