The University of Oklahoma’s ART: InTRO STAR-D initiative invites proposals from Norman Campus faculty teams and eligible OU departments to stimulate and translate academic research into societal, public, industry, or governmental applications. Up to four departments may receive awards of up to $20,000 in direct costs each. Eligible teams may include faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, undergraduate students, and staff, but may not include external members; funds may not be subcontracted to another institution. Each proposal must describe the department’s research and societal impact, provide at least two research examples and related funding information, identify barriers to research translation, present an action plan and sustainability plan, and explain how the project advances translation rather than fundamental research. The submission must be a single PDF containing a two-page narrative and Appendices A through E: references, a one-page Gantt chart, the OU Master Budget, a budget justification, and a Department Chair or School Head Letter of Support. Proposals must use one-inch margins, single spacing, and at least 11-point type; the narrative is limited to two pages. Cost sharing, subcontracts, conference/presentation/dissemination travel, and payments to OU Health Sciences Center faculty or staff are not allowed.
