Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide Medicaid eligibility and enrollment assistance for veterans and caregivers identified as needing Medicaid benefits, particularly for long-term care and nursing-home placement. Services include meeting with patients or activated healthcare proxies, obtaining releases of information, completing and filing applications within 72 hours of admission, obtaining required documentation, and assisting patients and caregivers who need help understanding the application process. The contractor must proactively follow up with Medicaid offices, patients, caregivers, and VA staff until an eligibility determination is issued, including managing appeals when necessary. The contractor must manage multiple cases concurrently, work with vulnerable populations, travel between campuses as required, and maintain a quality-control program. The solicitation contemplates a firm-fixed-price contract with one base year and four one-year option periods.
