This Sources Sought is for market research only; no solicitation is currently available, and responses will not be evaluated as proposals. The Air Force seeks information from organizations with demonstrated capabilities to provide scientific, computational, and software engineering support for its numerical weather prediction enterprise. The contemplated work centers on stewardship, development, integration, and sustainment of the MPAS atmospheric model, the JEDI data assimilation framework, and the MET/METplus verification suite, including coordinated releases across authoritative software baselines. The attached performance work statement describes potential work in numerical weather prediction and data assimilation; atmospheric and coupled Earth-system modeling; verification, validation, and diagnostics; AI/ML integration; cloud and high-performance computing; and ingestion and assimilation of advanced observational data. It also outlines software assurance, cybersecurity, configuration management, and protection of Air Force-specific capabilities. The attached questions request evidence of current organizational capabilities, relevant completed or ongoing work, personnel qualifications, software practices, and organizational dependencies. Responses are voluntary and intended for acquisition planning.
