Description
The U.S. Navy is conducting market research for a potential firm-fixed-price procurement covering underwater hull preservation for the USS Gridley (DDG 101). The anticipated requirement includes NAVSEA-approved marine paint, coatings, solvents, and other preservation products; a manufacturing warranty; product delivery and handling; and engineering and technical services from a paint original equipment manufacturer. The draft Performance Work Statement also requires full-time field service technical representative support during the vessel availability, including coating inspections, surface-preparation and application monitoring, condition surveys, progress and inventory reporting, photographs, troubleshooting, and final availability documentation. Representatives must have at least four years of relevant marine-coatings experience and NACE Level III or SSPC PCI Level 3 certification. The vessel will be dry-docked at a contractor facility, with the final availability location to be determined. This is a sources sought notice, not a request for proposal or offer, and responses are limited to five pages.
