Description
The City of Grand Rapids is soliciting bids for a lump-sum project to demolish the existing unit substation, branch-circuit panelboard, associated transformer, equipment pads, and related components, and furnish and install a new unit substation, transformer, panelboard, medium-voltage cabling, electrical distribution equipment, doors, lighting upgrades, and associated architectural and concrete work. The new equipment must fit the existing space, with the new unit substation based on Schneider Electric equipment and specific medium- and low-voltage ratings described in the specifications. The work also includes NETA electrical testing; short-circuit, protective-device coordination, and arc-flash risk studies; arc-flash labeling; manufacturer commissioning and startup; painting; demolition and patching; construction sequencing to maintain facility operations; and required submittals, warranties, and owner training. Bidders must be prequalified, submit encrypted bids through Bid Express, and may not include qualifying statements, voluntary alternates, comments, or other additional information. The engineer's estimate is $1,753,986.00.
