Description

The City of San Marcos is soliciting qualified plumbing contractors to provide on-call, as-needed services at various city-owned and operated facilities. The scope includes commercial, industrial, and residential plumbing repairs and maintenance; fixture repair, replacement, and installation; water-supply and distribution piping repairs; drain and sewer cleaning; sewer and drain video inspection; hydro-jetting; leak detection; water and sewer leak repairs; excavation and shoring for buried plumbing repairs; copper piping; natural gas piping; troubleshooting; and emergency plumbing and sewer services. Contractors must furnish labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and incidentals. Emergency calls require a qualified technician to be onsite within two hours, and the contractor must maintain 24/7 response capability. Material markup is capped at 15 percent. The City anticipates awarding approximately two contracts, with work assigned through task orders or other written authorizations and no guaranteed minimum quantity or compensation. The agreement term is five years. Proposals must include personnel qualifications, a detailed scope-of-work statement, a separate cost proposal, the City's proposal book and required certifications, and any applicable subcontractor information. A valid California Class C-36 plumbing contractor license and applicable public-works registrations are required. Prevailing-wage requirements apply, and the selected contractor must maintain the insurance required by the City's standard agreement.
