Description
The United Nations Development Programme seeks a contractor to perform comprehensive conservation and civil works at Agios Demetrios Church. The scope includes careful demolition and debris removal; restoration and repointing of stone masonry; reconstruction of walls, arches, cornices, and the upper belfry; grouting and structural consolidation; conservation of frescoes, inscriptions, icons, ceramic plates, and the iconostasis by experienced conservators; and repair or replacement of floors, plaster, roofs, tiles, gargoyles, doors, windows, timber members, metalwork, stairs, railings, drainage components, and yard structures. The contractor must provide materials, equipment, labor, scaffolding, temporary facilities, solar power, water, health and safety implementation, access arrangements, work planning, risk assessment, and project documentation. The bid requires a technical proposal, project schedule of up to nine calendar months including a 21-day mobilization period, key personnel and CVs, relevant licenses and certificates, prior civil-works and conservation experience, a priced bill of quantities, and a EUR 10,000 bid security. A performance security equal to 10% of the contract amount and liability insurance equal to at least 20% of the contract amount will be required after award or as specified in the contract documents.
