Description
The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services is soliciting sealed bids for the remodel of approximately 44,575 square feet on the third floor of the Department of Social and Health Services Office Building 2 at the Capitol Campus. The work includes demolition and construction of interior partitions, doors, relites, casework, finishes, flooring, painting, acoustical panels, markerboards, signage, blinds, and fire protection specialties. The project also includes modifications to existing plumbing, HVAC, hydronic, electrical, lighting, fire suppression, fire alarm, communications, and security systems while the building remains occupied. Addendum 03 clarifies that low-voltage and telecommunications cabling are excluded, scissor lifts may not be used on the floor, the contractor must lease designated laydown and dumpster spaces at 1139 Washington Street SE, and the electrical drawings and fire alarm scope have been revised. Contractors must coordinate staged construction, temporary protections, utility shutdowns, permits, prevailing-wage requirements, a 15% apprentice labor-hour requirement, supplemental responsibility criteria, diverse-business inclusion requirements, and at least four site visits for furniture and electrical coordination. The estimated bid cost is $3,700,000 to $4,100,000.
