Los Alamos National Laboratory is offering exclusive and non-exclusive licensing opportunities for SignalGen, a generative AI platform that predicts the signal peptide best suited to direct a specific protein to a desired cellular compartment or for secretion outside a cell. The platform considers the target protein, destination, and source organism, and supports both human and non-human proteins. SignalGen uses a protein language model trained on thousands of proteins and associated signal peptides, together with a natural-language AI agent that guides users through the prediction workflow without requiring programming or scripting. The technology has demonstrated approximately 90% prediction accuracy using its all-organism model, has a Technology Readiness Level of 3, and is covered by a U.S. patent application. Applications include therapeutic protein development, vaccine research, drug discovery, biomanufacturing, protein engineering, synthetic biology, industrial biotechnology, and molecular biology research. This is a technology licensing opportunity, not a request for external development services.
