Description
The National Forest Foundation is soliciting bids for eight separate forest restoration projects involving pre-commercial thinning, understory and shrub removal, hand or mechanical slashing, mastication, and slash piling or lop-and-scatter treatment. Bidders may submit prices for any or all projects, with separate pricing for each project. Work is intended to reduce tree density, improve stand health, and reduce hazardous fuels and uncharacteristic fire behavior. Project-specific specifications cover treatment methods, tree selection, slash handling, timing restrictions, and access conditions. Proposals must include a technical proposal describing the bidder’s services, management approach, work plan and schedule, key personnel, and quality control plan; qualifications and relevant experience, including three references; information on failed projects and pending legal matters; and proposed pricing and payment schedules. Bidders must identify current insurance coverage. Insurance certificates are required from the selected contractor before or at agreement execution, and payment or performance security may be required depending on the contract value, work classification, subcontracting, or material costs. The RFP anticipates awarding one or more contracts, with work scheduled during the stated performance period.
