Description
The contractor will plant approximately 655,855 seedlings across 493.4 hectares in the Rocky Mountain District, including initial planting and fill planting in burned areas and not-sufficiently-restocked blocks. Planting units are in the Bruce, Bugaboo, Fassiferne, Booth, Gold, Mia, Moscow, Noke, Moyie, and Rocky areas or drainages. The contractor must submit thaw requests at least 14 days before planting for ministry approval, transport seedlings from Hawkeye Holdings Ltd. in Kelowna to the planting sites, and provide at least one refrigerated unit capable of storing 100,000 seedlings. Thawed seedlings must be planted within 10 days. The tender uses the BCTS Planting Contractor Rating System; the tender package identifies the detailed requirements and evaluation criteria.
