Description
This is a Sources Sought notice for market research, not a solicitation or request for offers. NOAA is assessing potential sources for detailed design, fabrication, and related engineering services for a sonar gondola aboard the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster. The draft work specification calls for a design accommodating the vessel’s listed sonar and other transducers, fabrication of the gondola, and engineering deliverables supporting removal of existing sonar blisters and installation of the new gondola. The scope includes design reviews, ship checks, fabrication using ABS-certified welders, progress coordination and inspections, and a completed gondola crated for shipment. The contractor must also prepare an installation and engineering package, including work specifications, removal and installation drawings, dry-docking plan revisions, and a weight report and updated vessel model. The notice requests a capability statement of no more than three pages describing company profile and relevant capabilities; it is due electronically by November 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. ET.
