The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is seeking industry input for a planned design-build-to-budget flood risk management and bank stabilization project near downtown Selma, Alabama. The anticipated design includes approximately 1,000 linear feet of soldier-pile wall along the Alabama River, a secondary retaining wall, rip-rap toe protection, prestressed ground anchors or alternative tie-back systems, and construction access potentially conducted primarily from the water. The project is estimated at $30 million to $40 million. The event will include a project overview, discussion of construction methods and vibration controls near historic structures, tie-back testing, access and staging, alternative wall and stabilization methods, and relevant experience on projects of similar magnitude. No award will result from this event; the notice is for information gathering only. Interested attendees must provide their attendance information by email by October 23, 2026, and confirmed attendees will receive a Microsoft Teams invitation for virtual participation.
