Description
New Mexico State University proposes a sole-source purchase from Nanoscience Instruments Inc. of a Phenom XL G3 desktop scanning electron microscope analytical system with integrated energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, ChemiSEM elemental mapping, and MAPS 10008 S. 51st Street, Suite 110 Phoenix, AZ 85044 USA 3 image-mapping software. The purchase also includes a Luxor gold sputter coater, a secondary-electron detector, one day of training, and a three-year source guarantee. The justification cites the system's 100 mm × 100 mm sample chamber as necessary for examining large travertine specimens and fault-slip surfaces.
