Description
The Defense Logistics Agency proposes to acquire an estimated 103 cable assemblies for the Patriot weapon system, NSN 6150-01-531-5490, part number 13508085-4. The requirement is for supplies, with an estimated production lead time of 720 days after contract award and delivery to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The subsequent solicitation is expected to request economic order quantities based on forecasted annual demand. The item is restricted to Lockheed Martin Corporation Missiles and Fire Control, CAGE 64059, or an alternate source that completes the required engineering source-approval process. The acquisition is currently being pursued under FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) because only a limited number of responsible sources are available. The contractor would be responsible for manufacturing, supply-chain management, forecasting, long-lead-part procurement, obsolescence issues, final delivery, and recurring and nonrecurring engineering costs associated with qualification. This is a presolicitation notice; the future solicitation will be published separately, and all offerors must meet prequalification requirements.
