Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning a firm-fixed-price construction contract to renovate Wards 2K and 2B at the Birmingham VA Health Care System for optometry and ophthalmology clinical use. The contractor must provide project management, supervision, engineering, labor, materials, equipment, transportation, temporary facilities, permits, inspections, testing, commissioning, and all other incidentals required by the drawings, specifications, and Statement of Work. This acquisition is a 100% set-aside for certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The estimated construction magnitude is $5 million to $10 million, with an estimated completion period of 365 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The procurement will use a trade-off source-selection process. This is a presolicitation notice, not a request for proposals; the formal solicitation and its drawings, specifications, and other documents are expected to be posted separately.
