Description
The City of West Haven, through its Department of Public Works, is selling approximately 3,000 cubic yards of finely screened municipal leaf compost. The successful bidder must purchase and remove 100% of the available quantity, with award going to the highest responsive and responsible bidder offering the highest price per cubic yard. The purchaser must provide all labor, trucks, loaders, transportation, fuel, permits, and other resources needed for removal, secure loads, prevent spills or material loss, clean public-roadway spills, and leave the loading area orderly. Removal must be completed within 14 calendar days after bid opening unless the City grants a written extension. A bid bond equal to 10% of the bidder's estimated total purchase price is required. A completed bid form, required bid bond, and City disclosure/vendor form must be submitted in the sealed bid package. A certificate of insurance is required before site access and commencement of work, rather than with the bid submission.
