Description
The St. Clair County Road Commission seeks a contractor to furnish and apply herbicide to control vegetation along guardrails, with an estimated quantity of 210,000 linear feet; the quantity is not guaranteed, and payment is based on the unit price per linear foot. The contractor must provide the labor, equipment, materials, supervision, and expertise needed for the work, achieve a 90% effectiveness rate, and perform any necessary respraying at its own cost. Treatment locations and roads traveled must be mapped by GPS, and chemical quantities applied must be reported by date and township. Bidders must have at least three years of experience spraying roadsides with herbicides at the county or state level. The contractor and applicators must hold the specified Michigan pesticide licenses and certifications, and the contractor must obtain NPDES Pesticide General Permit coverage before award. Work is scheduled for May 1 through June 15, 2027, during daylight hours Monday through Friday. The proposal requires the attached bid form and, unless the bidder has at least two years of experience with the Road Commission, a completed Bidder Information Sheet and Summary of Experience. Insurance requirements include workers’ compensation, general liability or qualifying owners’ protective liability, and automobile liability; the Road Commission must be named as an additional insured.
